Mud Dock Cafe- Bristol wedding – Hope and Jacob

If you’re planning a wedding at Mud dock cafe in Bristol, you’ll love this wedding for inspiration!

When Hope and Jacob first got in touch with me about their wedding in Bristol I was so excited. I've never actually photographed at a wedding in Bristol so this was my first one there, and I was so excited to work at the awesome Mud Dock Cafe which was such a great setting for a fabulous day!

I started the day meeting Hope and her bride tribe at the gorgeous Number 38 Clifton. Which was the perfect backdrop for bridal prep. The morning was relaxed and chilled… That was until the taxi didn't arrive- But no worries, a quick shout-out to Uber and we were on the way!

The ceremony was made both very personal and absolutely hilarious thanks to the wonderful Olivia Coleman (not that Olivia Coleman). During the ceremony they had personal stories told about their love story along with some tear jerking readings from their close family and friends, which was so meaningful.

I love ceremonies that truly make your day about YOU. Which is exactly what it should be!! If you are currently looking at celebrants/registras for your day, I cannot recommend Olivia enough!!

As the weather forecast was saying heavy rain all day, we seized our chance to get out while it was dry to get some group shots and have a little wonder in the surrounding area. (Turns out we didn’t end up having a single drop of rain. This just shows that the weather forecast can sometimes be insanely wrong, and just embrace whatever happens at the time!)

As predominantly a documentary wedding photographer, I often get asked whether I photograph group shots on the day. Of course, I do! I know how important it is to get these images on your wedding day! Do not fear!! I usually try and get your group shots done quite early in your day after your ceremony. This way your guests can then spend the rest of their day enjoying themselves rather than have to keep getting taken away for photos! I will also ask for a group shot list before your wedding day to make sure I am prepared!

Weddings at Mud dock cafe are amazing, because the building has got such a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with an urban vibe. As a bike cafe, the room is already full of decoration, with bikes hanging from the ceiling, fairy lights.. and a disco ball (can’t go wrong with a disco ball!!) The tables were decorated with flowers and candles, but with a nice minimalistic touch. The food was SO GOOD, served family style, which I love (I’m such a foodie).

After the fantastic speeches, Hope and Jacob invited their evening guests to arrive earlier to join them all on a boat trip around Bristol. This was such a great way to avoid having any lull after the wedding breakfast and a great way for all their guests to see the sights.

Everyone was greeted back at the venue with a jazz band ready to party hard into the night!

Hope and Jacob, I cannot thank you enough for having me along for your wedding day. It was such an awesome day!
